Safe and effective management of upper limb pain
Complaints of pain involving the shoulder, elbow, and forearm are frequently linked to repetitive strain, overuse injuries, or degenerative changes, yet they require careful screening for serious underlying conditions before beginning routine therapy.
If these more serious conditions are excluded, the focus typically shifts to common issues like rotator cuff tendinopathy, frozen shoulder, or epicondylitis (tennis or golfer's elbow).
These conditions often arise from chronic overloading of the tendons or postural stress and can progress to significantly limit the limb's range of motion and grip strength, occasionally requiring referral to a specialist if conservative management fails to restore function.
